Colombian-born designer Paola and her husband, Mark met as undergraduates at Harvard.  Spurred by a four-month backpacking trip to Bali, they founded Wooden Ships in NYC in 1992. 

 

Produced fairly and ethically in Bali, all pieces are made-to-order so there is no wasted time, raw materials, or wrong inventory.  Their obsession with fit, lasting quality, casual-chic style has won them much support.
